Kristian Vigenin adresses students: Be transparent in your actions, corruption is not forgiven
“We need to explain better so that the benefits of our membership in the European Union are obvious and to promote good practices. Despite the huge issue of the European scepticism, it should be very clear that it is better to be part of the Union because we have more opportunities. By being part of something bigger, we have perspective.”This was stated by the Head of the Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament, Kristian Vigenin, during a meeting with students and teachers at an International Event under the European Parliament Ambassador Schools Programme in Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania. The event was organized by the European Parliament Liaison Offices in the three countries. A total of 9 schools from the high school stage participated in the meeting – three from each country. Nearly 100 students aged between 14 and 19 and 20 teachers were present. The main objective of the programme is to raise awareness among school students about the European Union and the European Parliament. The initiative introduces young people in upper secondary education how they themselves could influence political and democratic life in the European Union.
Vigenin emphasized that people might forgive mistakes, difficulties, or inaccuracies, but never corruption: “My advice to you, if you decide to be engaged in politics in the future, is to be transparent in your actions. It is important to seek the truth by asking questions and looking for answers. That is the way.”

The MEP also advised young people to be critical, as not everything in the abundance of information is true. “Being active moves you forward. If you are active, you will create. If you are responsible and honest, you will succeed.”, Vigenin pointed out as the formula for success.
“Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania can work together to make our voice stronger in defending our common interests. We all need to find balance to preserve our world as we know it, despite the challenges and difficulties.”, emphasized the Head of the Delegation of the Bulgarian Socialists.
