Kristian Vigenin: I have the knowledge and the competence to contribute BSP to be a strong party that is working for the people

My path in big politics started in Yambol, our biggest successes are connected with Yambol and the region, there have been failures as well. Here there was always the understanding that the private gives way to the common. I have learned a lot from you in life and in politics. Thank you for all these years we have worked together and will continue to do so.”, said the Deputy Chairman of BSP and Head of the Bulgarian Socialist  Delegation in the European Parliament Kristian Vigenin. With an emotional meeting in Yambol he started a series of meetings, which he will hold within the campaign for the election of BSP leader. Vigenin said to the socialists in Yambol that he did not take the decision to run for chairman easily because he knows what challenges every leader faces in these years: “It requires a lot of courage, a lot of bravery, a lot of confidence in your own strength to take such a commitment. After all these years in politics and in government, I have the knowledge and the capacity to help BSP to be strong, BSP to be the party that can effectively defend our left principles and policies in the interest of the people and to provide a new perspective for Bulgaria. The road we are on is not from today to tomorrow, it is long.”, Vigenin emphasised.

The Deputy Chairman of BSP is a supporter of the direct election system – every member of the party should have the opportunity to decide who should be the BSP leader. Therefore, along with his ideas for the development of BSP, he will defend the right of every socialist to be allowed to choose the leader, according to his ideas and visions for the development of the party.

Vigenin noted that the BSP’s participation in the government is an opportunity, but also a challenge. He warned that this step should be used in the best way possible, that the government should be fair and open to people and  BSP should defend and implement its policies. “This must be a government that does not just put an end to the political crisis and a series of elections, but really gives a new perspective.”, Kristian Vigenin set the goal for BSP. He believes the party must achieve a qualitatively new state: “We need to develop BSP in such a way that at the next elections we will be stronger. This depends on all of us, but first of all on the future chairman and leadership, which should structure the party and its work in a way that we have a face and results. To create a cadre that will support our policies and to succeed to contribute to the development of Bulgaria.”

“For me the unification of the left is a cause and despite the problems that have arisen in recent days, the united left will be there, and it will continue to grow. The left will not just be a mechanical collection of the parties that constitute it. I believe it will gain more strength over time and so every voter who considers himself left will be able to vote for our left unity.”,  said the Deputy Chairman of the BSP.
