Kristian Vigenin in Gotse Delchev: Together to pave the way for change in BSP

Bulgaria needs a strong left party to provide solutions for overcoming inequalities

“It is very important for me to meet and talk with you, the socialists from the Gotse Delchev region.”, said the Deputy Chairman of BSP and candidate for party chairman Kristian Vigenin  in Gotse Delchev.

“I would like the successful model of governance in Gotse Delchev to be transferred at national level – here is a unified and strong BSP organization that works in synergy with the mayor and the local administration. Young people are getting a chance, there is continuity,” he highlighted the achievements of the Mayor Vladimir Moskov, the BSP Regional Chairman Valeri Sarandev and the socialists in the region who hosted the meeting.

“I decided to run for the BSP leadership because the party is in a difficult situation. As a person who started from the lowest stage, I know the problems very well and I propose concrete solutions – how to stabilise BSP, how to make it stronger. This is necessary for Bulgaria, because only a left party is able to propose a different approach in government and overcome the growing inequalities. A few super-rich and a large majority of very poor people – this is not Bulgaria we wish for, we would like perspective for our children and families. BSP must be strong, I believe I can make it so, with the support of every socialist.”, Kristian Vigenin stressed. “Only united we can move forward. It is no coincidence that my motto is “For a strong BSP! Together!”.

“My first steps in politics were in the youth organisation. I think I know what young people expect and I have ideas how to do it. I have the intention to provide a wider opportunities for young people – to implement their ideas. BSP needs active people who believe in ideals and are not dependent. They should be the new face of BSP, but with the support of experienced people. This cement makes our way forward successful and is the right formula for the party’s development.”, Vigenin outlined. “The BSP Chairman needs to build a very clear mechanism of selection and promotion of cadres. It has often happened that the selection is very subjective, and it is not the best candidates but the most loyal to the leader who are nominated,” he pointed out.

Kristian Vigenin sees in the upcoming party congress an opportunity to reconsider the BSP approaches and policies. “We need to set the path of change together so that we can offer to Bulgaria the necessary leftist solutions that will provide a better quality of life to people.”

“Despite some problems that have arisen recently, BSP United Left will gain more and more cohesion in terms of activities and policies, because this is not a coalition for just one election, but a long road coalition. I believe that every left person will find a reason to trust it.”, Vigenin is convinced. He added that the election platform “100 solutions for accelerated development of Bulgaria” is a good basis for future actions.

Kristian Vigenin raised another important aspect – how BSP should achieve its goals in the government, implement its policies and come out stronger. He thinks it is extremely important to make a periodic report to the party on the work done in government, as well as to stay away from the  wrong decisions of the other parties in government.

Kristian Vigenin explained that BSP supports the entry into the Eurozone, not prematurely, but when we are ready and there are clear guarantees that the economy will not suffer, incomes will be protected and people will not be victims of speculation and increased prices.
