Kristian Vigenin: We are working for less regulations and easier financing for microenterprises

In today’s challenging economic conditions marked by inflation, digital transformation and market uncertainty, entrepreneurs play a crucial role in our economy. More than 5 million people in Europe are engaged in the direct sales sector, making it a key instrument for economic development and social inclusion.”, said Kristian Vigenin, Head of the Bulgarian Socialist Delegation in the European Parliament, during a conference in Brussels organized by the European Direct Selling Association (Seldia). He stressed the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises and the role of direct sales for economic growth and social sustainability.

Vigenin gave an example from Bulgaria: “The direct sales sector has shown itself to be an important economic driver. Around 40% of entrepreneurs in our country are women. Many of them rely on direct sales as a source of additional income.” He outlined several key measures that can improve the business environment in Europe. “We are working for less regulations and easier financing for microenterprises. It is essential to develop different programs  to support self-employment and training and initiatives for digital skills, marketing and business management.”

The EU Competitiveness Compass is a key initiative aimed at reducing administrative burdens and creating a more favorable business environment. “By lowering regulatory costs for companies and supporting digital transformation and access to finances, this initiative will facilitate the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering innovation and economic expansion”, Vigenin said. According to him, in order to build a sustainable economy, cooperation between institutions, businesses and entrepreneurs themselves is necessary. “Only with the right policies and support, Europe can become an even better place for innovation and growth.”, he noted.
