Only in this way can we make investment easier, speed up the entry of new products and reduce unnecessary administrative burden, without compromising people&#8217;s health or the protection of the environment.&#8221; This was stated by Bulgarian MEP Kristian Vigenin from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the EP after a meeting with representatives of American companies, members of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation was devoted to the legislative package &#8220;Omnibus VI&#8221; that is being prepared, on which Vigenin is rapporteur on behalf of the group of Socialists in the European Parliament. The European Commission&#8217;s initiative provides for simplifying and modernising the regulations for chemical, cosmetic and fertiliser products, including easing the requirements for labelling and classification, streamlined registration procedures and packaging requirements. The aim is to reduce bureaucracy, give faster access to the market and make the Single Market function more effectively.  <\/p>\n<h2>Flexibility for business and protection for people<\/h2><p>During the meeting Vigenin stressed that the new rules have to combine greater flexibility for business with a high level of protection for consumers and the environment. He underlined that companies need predictability, stable regulatory frameworks and competitive conditions in order to develop their supply chains and invest in innovation in Europe. <\/p>\n<p>The report on Omnibus VI will be published next week, and the discussion in committee in the European Parliament is planned for January
