Kristian Vigenin congratulated nurses on their day. He committed to supporting the development of new staff
“Nursing is a calling, because you are the people who are beside us when we need help, when we are ill and suffering. Your work often stays in the shadows, but you are the backbone of healthcare. Every word and action of yours gives hope, strength and comfort to thousands of Bulgarians every day. Without you, quality healthcare is impossible. ” With these words the head of the Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists Kristian Vigenin addressed nurses on the International Day of Nursing, 12 May, at the Military Club, where he was a guest at the celebration of the nurses from the Military Medical Academy.
The MEP expressed his deep respect and gratitude to all nurses for their dedication, professionalism and humanity towards patients.
As a member of the European Parliament and of the Committee on Public Health, Kristian Vigenin said that he is aware of the need for concrete action: better working conditions, decent pay and opportunities for professional development. „I commit to working for policies that put the development and wellbeing of the people in this profession at the centre, and that guarantee support for the new generations of medical staff “, he also said.
