Kristian Vigenin met the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Brussels Vaqif Sadiqov

Bulgarian MEP Kristian Vigenin from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament held a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Brussels Vaqif Sadiqov at the latter’s request.

The two discussed the new prospects in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, institutional cooperation between the European Parliament and the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis, and the impact of the war in Ukraine.

Kristian Vigenin and Vaqif Sadiqov discussed the energy corridors, the European Union becoming more active in Central Asia and its link with the South Caucasus, as well as the new trade routes and the role of Azerbaijan.

For two decades now, in various positions, Vigenin has worked with the countries of the South Caucasus and knows the region and its development over the years extremely well. Although he is currently focused on the Central Asian region, as a former co-chair of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly he is committed to working more for the shaping of a realistic European Parliament policy oriented towards common interests.
