Vigenin and Penkova organise a public debate on the EU's next long-term budget and the opportunities for Bulgaria

The delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament is organising a public discussion on the topic “Bulgaria and the new European budget 2028-2034: goals and opportunities”, which will take place on 8 December 2025 (Monday) from 10:00 at the Grand Hotel Sofia, “Sofia” hall, floor 2, 1 Gurko Street.

The discussion is devoted to the EU’s next long-term budget for the 2028-2034 period, which will set the direction of the Union’s development over the next decade. The participants will discuss the upcoming changes, the strategic priorities and Bulgaria’s position in shaping the new budget policy.

The forum will bring together representatives of the European institutions, the executive and the legislature, local government, academia and the expert community.

The event will be opened by the Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova and by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and chairman of the National Council of the BSP Atanas Zafirov. It will be attended by the deputy chair of the National Assembly Dragomir Stoynev, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivan Krastev, the mayor of Gotse Delchev and member of the Bulgarian delegation to the Committee of the Regions Vladimir Moskov, representatives of the administration of the Council of Ministers and of the Ministry of Finance responsible for European programming. There will also be participants from the academic community.
