Kristian Vigenin: Natalia Kiselova can be the unifying figure for Speaker of the National Assembly

„The BSP has a clear strategy for the start and the structuring of the new parliament. Our candidate for Speaker of the 51st National Assembly is the constitutional lawyer Natalia Kiselova. She can be the unifying figure who receives the support of everyone who wants change in the governance of Bulgaria. For Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly we propose Dragomir Stoynev, who is an established political figure.“ This was stated by the Deputy Chair of the BSP and head of the Bulgarian Delegation of the Socialists in the EP Kristian Vigenin on bTV.

In the Deputy Chair of the BSP’s view, it is out of the question for Boyko Borissov to receive the party’s support to be prime minister. „The BSP cannot take part in this game. We are building a left alternative and there is no way it can be drowned even in that kind of discussion. There is not a single member of our National Council who is even considering such a possibility. The only possible formula in which we can take part is a broadly supported expert cabinet with a clear programme and a defined term of office“, he commented. „I think it is time for Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borissov to be isolated far from power. The BSP will not serve Peevski“, Vigenin is categorical.

He does not accept the term „sanitary cordon around Peevski“ as applied to politics: „What matters is not allowing this formation to return to government in triumph. That matters for Bulgaria. Let emotions step back today and let there be more reason, which does not mean unprincipled decisions, in which the BSP will not take part.“ Regarding the MRF, New Beginning, Kristian Vigenin recalled that he has sent a letter to the interior minister about the elections in Yambol: „In that letter I attach data showing how the influence of Peevski’s MRF suddenly jumps several times over. There are laws in this country. It is imperative that they are observed and that the elections are annulled if these violations are proved“, he concluded.
