The Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament opened its renovated "Thrace" office in Yambol
The Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament opened its renovated information office in Yambol, which will now be called “Thrace”. The ribbon was cut by MEPs Kristian Vigenin and Tsvetelina Penkova in the presence of the Chair of the BSP National Council, Krum Zarkov, representatives of local government, regional and municipal party leaders, supporters and citizens.
The office is not a new structure, but an extension of the work of the existing information centre. Under its new concept, it will serve not only Yambol Province, but also Sliven, Haskovo, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv, and will be a place connecting citizens, local communities and the European institutions.
“We want this office to be an open space for meetings, information and dialogue. People should know that they can come here to ask their questions, share their problems and seek help on issues related to European policies and the opportunities they create for the regions,” Kristian Vigenin said.
According to Tsvetelina Penkova, the Thrace office will also have a broader expert role. “Our goal is to provide more direct contact between citizens, local government, business, the non-governmental sector and representatives in the European Parliament. The regions need not only funding, but also support to put their problems and potential on the European agenda,” she noted.
The Thrace office will work on regional development, connectivity, energy, the environment, security, resilience and European funding opportunities. The ambition is for it to establish itself as an active centre for information, expert support and public dialogue on issues important to South-East Bulgaria.
