Kristian Vigenin in Sozopol: Our future members of parliament bring a different culture and vision for the future of Bulgaria

Kristian Vigenin in Sozopol: Our future members of parliament bring a different culture and vision for the future of Bulgaria

With firm support for Eng. Petar Kanev and for Yordan Petkov, BSP, UNITED LEFT opened its election campaign in Sozopol

„However much they speak against us, saying we were not ready for this coalition, the truth is that something good happened in Bulgaria this summer, a new energy running counter to the disintegration in Bulgarian politics. We witnessed the indecent language from the rostrum in parliament and the absence of ideas for the country’s future. Something that cannot happen in BSP, UNITED LEFT. I cannot imagine Eng. Petar Kanev or Yordan Petkov tearing out cables and hurling insults. They work. They are good and responsible people. That is an important condition for being a good politician. Our future members of parliament bring a different culture, a different view of Bulgaria, and they have ideas for the future of our parents and our children“. This was stated in Sozopol by the Deputy Chair of the BSP, author of the expert Programme for the accelerated development of Bulgaria in 100 points and MEP, Kristian Vigenin.

He arrived for the opening of the election campaign of the BSP, UNITED LEFT coalition with ballot number 28. Vigenin expressed support for the leader of the coalition for the Burgas constituency, Eng. Petar Kanev, for the candidate from Sozopol at number 104, Yordan Petkov, and for all the candidates for parliament on the list.

„How socialists work in a municipality can be seen from the good things that have been happening in Sozopol since Tihomir Yanakiev became mayor. As a believing person, I have always been faithful to the BSP. That means trusting the people who stand behind you. We in the BSP are moral people and that can be seen from our actions. In parliament I will work to deliver the causes the mayor has already begun in our municipality“, said the candidate with preference 104, Yordan Petkov.

The campaign launch in Sozopol

The opening of the BSP, UNITED LEFT election campaign filled the cinema hall of the community centre in Sozopol. Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev stood before his fellow citizens in support of the Burgas list and the local candidate for parliament, Yordan Petkov.

„I am uniting around the idea that has guided me through these years. And all this time it has kept a friend like Yordan beside me. A wonderful person, and parliament does not need 240 MPs but 240 human beings who have a heart for others just as they have for their own family. Lately politics has been emptied of content, and instead of it what is left are promises, ovations and election after election. Without decisions for citizens. But if you follow the history, the BSP’s participation in power has always come with care for people. I can recall the measures taken in 2008 for children and for elderly people. I am myself the father of three children and it matters to me who governs us and how. That is why I read the Programme for accelerated development carefully several times, and it really does have 100 points covering every area of our lives“, said Tihomir Yanakiev.

In Vigenin’s words, a good indicator of the Programme’s effectiveness is the comments and the conflicts around it on the right. „It contains things it is natural for them not to like, such as the restrictions on bailiffs and on the mobile operators, who can currently raise prices in contracts at will. They do not like that the cartels and monopolies in Bulgaria will be placed under strict legal control, or that we are for abolishing the flat tax and introducing progressive taxation so that there is tax fairness too. For all this to happen, support the people who care about Bulgaria, with ballot 28!“, Kristian Vigenin also urged, expressing the hope that in the next parliament the speaker would be Eng. Petar Kanev, as a person of indisputable authority.

The leader of the Burgas list used his presence on stage to praise the worthy individuals standing for parliament for BSP, United Left in the 2nd constituency.

The event was brought to a close by Dr Ferferiev and G.P. Band. The director Todor Petrov took the role of host.
