Kristian Vigenin with a commitment to protecting the only schools in remote municipalities

The MEP took presents to the pupils of Suhindol

The head of the Delegation of the Bulgarian Socialists Kristian Vigenin undertook to seek a legislative solution for special protection for the only schools in remote municipalities. He was the first MEP to visit the St Kliment Ohridski secondary school in Suhindol, which is the only one in the whole municipality, and there are such examples in other areas across the country too.

Kristian Vigenin visited the smallest municipality in Veliko Tarnovo region and delighted the pupils with balls and nets for small goals. The children welcomed him at the entrance of the St Kliment Ohridski school with Pasha Hristova’s song A Bulgarian Rose and offered him bread and salt, according to the old Bulgarian custom.

Visits to the school and the nursery

At the school they were pleasantly surprised by Vigenin’s visit. The head teacher Zaharinka Nedelcheva introduced the guest to the specialities taught at the school. The MEP was impressed by the one-of-a-kind class that trains winemakers and vine growers. The school has recently had a new website too, and the management plans to introduce innovative approaches in teaching. An emphasis is also placed on the children’s physical activity.

The MEP also visited the Osmi Mart nursery in Suhindol. Vigenin looked round the beautiful building, which has recently been renovated. During his visit to Suhindol, Kristian Vigenin was accompanied by the deputy mayor of the municipality Eng. Zdravko Garbov.
